· Honoring Diversity & Support of Vulnerable Communities
· Strengthening Families & Children
· Increasing Stewardship of the Environment / Caring for God's Creation
· Promoting Music & the Arts
· Supporting Opportunities for Education & Nurture Across Generations
Ministries of Health and Healing
Much of Jesus' ministry focused on healing. The word in scripture often translated as salvation (sozo) is also the word for wholeness. In February of 2007 Presbyterian Urban Network (PUN) Commissioned a parish nurse for several small urban congregations in Portland's Eastside. Our parish nurses works with us to strengthen our congregation's knowledge and practice of wellness and preventive health care as we offer opportunities focused on health and healing to our surrounding neighborhoods. Judy Hubbard is available to the community the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month from 9:00 am to 11:30 am. This emerging ministry is an exciting venture for our community. Come share with us your ideas and dreams for healing in the community. In 2014 we began Tai Chi classes each weeks. All classes are both for the congregation and community. A number of 12 step groups (DA, OA, ACoC, MA) and the Portland Veterans Accupuncture Project meet here.

Community Service, Not Incarceration
For over a decade our congregation in collaboration with the Multnomah County Adult Services Division provides a supervised individual designed placement for those who have entered a court ordered community service requirement in their sentencing. We work with able bodied and medically fragile men and women in a setting that focuses on dignity and empowerment as they complete the agreements they have made with the courts. This program over the last decade has supported more than 100 individuals.
We’re a Five for Five Congregation We financially support a Basic Mission Partner pledge, One Great Hour of Sharing (Hunger, Disaster response, Community Development), Pentecost (Children at Risk & Youth & Young Adult Leadership Development), Peacemaking & Global Witness, and Joy Offerings (Higher education for racial ethnic minorities and church worker relief).
